Foggy and 2014 X Factor contestant and Jungle runner up, Jake Quickenden, will embark on a trek across Iceland in July to raise money for children’s charity, the NSPCC.

The duo will be joined by Carl’s family – wife Michaela and daughters Claudia and Danielle Fogarty (the girlfriend of Jake Quickenden) – and are calling on adventurers to sign up to the once-in-a-lifetime challenge.

The five-day trek will see the pair making their way across tough terrain, through one of the most actively volcanic parts of Iceland. They will encounter some of Europe’s greatest wilderness areas, home to glaciers, thundering waterfalls, steaming lava fields and boiling mud pools.

With 50 places available on the trek, people can choose to be on Team Foggy or Team Jake, with competitive head-to-head challenges taking place along the route.

Each participant will be asked to raise £2,795 for the charity’s ChildLine service, so that more counsellors can be recruited and trained, enabling every child to get the help and support they need – however and whenever they choose to get in touch.

Speaking about the trek, Carl said: “This is a big challenge and it will be great to have my family with me on the journey. I can’t wait to go head-to-head with Jake, he stands no chance!

“I’ve supported the NSPCC and its ChildLine service for many years; it’s a fantastic charity that helps keep children safe from abuse. The more money we can raise, the more children we can help. I’d encourage anyone who is looking for a challenge with a difference to sign up and join Team Foggy!”

Jake Quickenden, said: “I’ve never been to Iceland before.  What better way to see what the country has to offer than by exploring it on foot, whilst raising much needed funds for ChildLine.

“Team Foggy will have to watch their backs because I’m determined to win! If you want to be on the winning side, sign up to Team Jake today.”
